Finish: Eighth (80 | 80 laps completed)

Derek Griffith Quote: “I can’t thank the Chad Bryant Racing guys enough for their hard work on Friday at Pocono Raceway. I had a good No. 22 Original Gourmet™ Food Company Ford Fusion, but we just battled a tight condition throughout the race.

“Paul (Andrews, crew chief) did a great job with adjustments and we really came to life at the end of the race but didn’t have the track position to capitalize.

I also learned a lot on Friday. It was a big adjustment from a short track to a speedway, but I got more comfortable with every lap.

“I can’t wait for the next opportunity with the Chad Bryant Racing team.”

LONG POND, Pa.: Derek Griffith’s 2020 season may have been reshuffled because of the coronavirus pandemic, but Friday afternoon’s General Tire #ANYWHEREISPOSSIBLE 200 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway is a prime opportunity for the Chad Bryant Racing development driver.

Chad Bryant Racing is the defending winner of the 80-lap race and although the 23-year-old Griffith has never been to the tough and treacherous 2.5-mile triangle, the Hudson, N.H. native has developed a reputation for conquering challenges in spectacular fashion.

His ARCA Menards Series debut may be his biggest challenge yet.

“I’m excited to get to Pocono on Friday,” said Griffith. “It’s going to be a big challenge as it will be the largest track that I’ve ever competed on, but I feel like I’m heading there with one of the best teams in the garage.

“It’s going to take a few laps to get comfortable, but I think with some confidence in myself and the leadership of the Chad (Bryant) and Paul (Andrews, crew chief) we can turn some heads.”

Traditionally before the June ARCA race, the series’ host an open-test session allowing rookie drivers the prime opportunity to get comfortable with the “Tricky Triangle,” but with COVID-19 changing the protocols of the season, Griffith will have just one hour to find his comfort zone – just hours before the race.

“I’ve been doing all I can to get ready for Pocono,” added Griffith. “Reviewing notes, talking to people, watching old races, you name it, I’ve been all over it. It’s important for us to have a good outing in our first race with Original Gourmet™ Food Company, so we’ll take the hour practice session and hope it gives us a good direction for the race.”

Friday will also mark the debut of Original Gourmet™ Food Company as the primary partner of Griffith’s No. 22 Ford Fusion.

Headquartered in Salem, New Hampshire, Original Gourmet™ has been innovating in the sweets and snack industry since 1994. Their story started with a recipe and a vision.

Their curiosity for making special blends of flavors and colors of candy became a passion for providing people with bold tasting lollipops.

Griffith’s car will be covered in a variety of the company’s 26 lollipops flavors.

Original Gourmet’s lollipops are the largest pops sold with a bright taste and bright colors – standing out from all the rest. Weighing in at 1.1 oz., these lollipops are gluten and peanut free delights that have a plastic stick and will not get soggy like all the other lollipops do.

“I am so blessed for this opportunity to represent Original Gourmet™ Food Company and compete in the ARCA Menards Series,” added Griffith. “This is a great chance to bring a new partner into the sport and bring a product that race fans can enjoy while watching our Chad Bryant Racing compete for race wins.”

Team owner Chad Bryant says he is ecstatic to have Griffith onboard for Pocono and thinks he will impress many in the fourth race of the season.

“Derek impressed a lot of people at New Smyrna and he’ll only continue to turn heads in the ARCA Menards Series,” offered Bryant. “He is extremely talented, and I think he’ll be able to showcase that whether it’s on a short track or a big track.

“We’re going to win some races before the end of the 2020 season, I promise ya.”

Brandon Lynn ready to execute in Chad Bryant Racing debut at Talladega

Brandon Lynn ready to execute in Chad Bryant Racing debut at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala.: With his first ARCA Menards Series appearance on deck this weekend for Saturday afternoon’s General Tire 200 with Chad Bryant Racing, series’ veteran Brandon Lynn hopes to not only showcase his ability but put the team back in Victory Lane.

Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway will be the first of a minimum two-race deal for Lynn who will pilot the team’s flagship No. 22 Ford Fusion entry.

“I’ve been ready to get to Talladega,” said Lynn. “I’ve been staying busy with work but have been checking in with the team and doing what I can to prepared myself for the race on Saturday.

“Honestly, I just feel lucky to be able to race this weekend at Talladega considering all that has transpired in 2020.”

Carolina Excavation will support the effort for his 12th career ARCA Menards Series race.

Carolina Excavation is a residential subdivision total site development company for the developers around the Charlotte region. They specialize in site cleaning work, mass grading, fine grading, utility work, asphalt, and curb.

Carolina Excavation is equipped with the latest and greatest in GPS technology to build the ideal site for developers wanting the perfect product.

Originally slated as a mid-April event, the coronavirus pandemic has forced ARCA Menards Series officials to adjust the 2020 schedule with Saturday’s 76-lap race becoming the opening act for a doubleheader for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

As for Lynn, he is no stranger to Talladega’s 2.66-mile high banks.

Lynn will make his fifth consecutive ARCA start at the famed Alabama race track. In his previous four efforts, he has earned one top-five and two top-10 finishes including a career-best third place finish last April after winning the pole.

“I feel like I have some unfinished business at Talladega, and I would like to finish what I started last year in a couple weeks. I know the circumstances will be different with limited on-track activity – but I think the years of experience between myself and the team will pay off.”

With the race distance being altered from a traditional 94 laps to now just 76, Lynn believes strategy will be key to success this weekend and with the knowledge of veteran crew chief Paul Andrews, he believes he has one of ARCA’s finest on the box.

“Chad Bryant Racing is a huge player when it comes to the ARCA Menards Series,” Lynn stated.

“Whether it is raw speed or using strategy to outwit their competitors, I know whatever situation we find ourselves in on Saturday, we should have a good chance of contending for the win. Strategy will be a factor this weekend, it’s just going to be fascinating to see how it all unravels.”

Team owner Chad Bryant says he is looking forward to having the opportunity to work with Lynn.

“Brandon is an exceptional superspeedway racer and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in our equipment,” Bryant said. “His experience should put us in good position to contend for our first win of the season.

“We had a lot of speed at Daytona even though we don’t have the finishes to show for it. Last year at Talladega, our No. 22 Chad Bryant Racing Ford ran inside the top-five the entire race with Ty Majeski and I know with a little luck we can backup or better our fourth-place effort with Brandon this weekend.”

In addition to Talladega, Lynn will return with Chad Bryant Racing later this summer for the scheduled Aug. 14 race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.

Chad Bryant Racing adjusts ARCA Menards Series East plans

MOORESVILLE, N.C.: Chad Bryant Racing (CBR) announced today that the coronavirus pandemic has forced the organization to adjust its 2020 ARCA Menards Series East schedule which includes their withdraw from competition in Saturday’s Herr’s Potato Chips 200 at Toledo Speedway.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, CBR and newcomer Derek Griffith was slated to run the full ARCA Menards Series East schedule, but with current protocols and procedures in place, the team will now run select races in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East.

Griffith, 23 and Chad Bryant Racing embraced an outstanding performance in their series’ debut together in February at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway.

The talented Late Model ace from the Northeast had one of the fastest cars in practice; won the pole, led a whopping 144 of the race’s 175 laps, but a late-race pit stop penalty relegated Griffith to start at the rear of the field.  With 31 laps remaining he was able to come from last to second.

Knowing the team will now forgo a championship, the team under the leadership of Paul Andrews will now focus on race wins.

“This was a difficult decision for our Chad Bryant Racing team,” said team owner Chad Bryant. “We weighed the options and without the opportunity to race and interact with fans right now, we had to adjust our plans in the best interest of Original Gourmet™ Food Company and their initiatives.

“While we’re disappointed that we’ll no longer be able to compete for an ARCA Menards Series East championship, we’re upbeat knowing that we can go to the race track each week with a young, flourishing and talented driver.”

In lieu of Toledo, CBR and Griffith will now compete in the ARCA Menards Series race at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway on June 26 with the No. 22 Original Gourmet™ Food Company Ford Fusion.

An updated 2020 schedule for Griffith will be released in the near future.
